Hey Jim!
This is Barry's son, Mark. I remember you from Philly and coming over to the house for some of the wonderful get togethers my parents had. So glad you found my website and this post about my dad. I miss him a lot and it's always great to hear from his friends. Hope you're well and enjoying the Big Sky there in Montana!
Best,
M

I usually watch the Today Show every morning for my morning jolt of political aggrevation. But today, April 6th, 2012, they aired a feature about a woman who says she suffers greatly because she's too beautiful. It was more than I could stomach. Even worse that the current batch of Republican Presidential candidates. So I switched over to ABC's Good Morning America. The first thing that flashed into my mind was Barry Nemcoff, my old pal from the journalism faculty of Temple University's School of Communications and Theater. He made my life in academia not only bearable, but at times, downright joyful. One wonderful human being. I went right to my computer and googled Barry's name and found this website. I hope this note is going to Barry Nemcoff Dima, the camera man I once worked with at WCAU-TV, a pretty great guy himself, a so-called chip of the old block. In closing, I'm really sorry to hear that Dad died a few years ago. He is one of the very few human beings I've known about whom I can't say a single negative thing. If you are ever in Montana, give me a yell. Even if you're not in Montana. Jim Riggio

Hi there, how can I become a .tv advocate?
I produce a lot of content online, own my own studio, and do quite a bit in front of the camera work as well. Is this open to Canadians?
Thanks!

Mark, I thought I just posted my comment but the connection may have been lost rigth before I clicked "post", so I resend it at the risk of being repetitive.
If you are one of those kids who try to reconstruct and understand their dads after the dads are gone, I have a small bit of information to fill in the white spots on the map. I met your dad during Tokyo Olympics in 1964, when he was covering the Sailing sport (at which I was a student interpreter). I also met your grandmother Nina at that time, and she and I become quite friendly. We met a few times in Tokyo and I think I met your mother as well. Your grandmother told me about her father and how she met Barry's father. We kept up for a few years. Her last address I have was in Philadelphia. We lost track around 1973. It was nice to come acress this picture.

John,

FINALLY... someone asks the big question..

I'm actually planning a fairly detailed blog post about the relationship of INFINITY to the AOD Chronicles books that should answer all of your questions... (and perhaps inspire some new ones).

However, to answer your "Nemesis" question... the mention about the Church of Infinity was just my way of planting that seed of familiarity early. Nemesis and INFINITY aren't related in any way, the mention is just really an easter egg of sorts in the same way the mention of the "incident at the Grand Tropic hotel" in "Diary of a Madman" is a call back to said event from "The Doomsday Club" and the occasional moment where someone in one of my books has a headache and reaches for a bottle of "Binafan", a Tylenol-like over-the-counter painkiller first introduced in "The Art of Surfacing".

That being said, I'll detail the real in-depth relationship between INFINITY and Badlands/Angel of Death/Diary of a Madman soon. I think you'll get a real kick out of how the puzzle pieces all fit together... and what obvious pieces have not been revealed yet.

Mark, I absolutely love the new story. Your reading of it is great. The voices for the various characters are wonderful and sound stone-dead consistent throughout the reading.

I was going to ask if Ranajee was an anagram like some of the names in other stories but my playing with it leads me to think not. Unless I'm missing an obvious word from the minimal amount of useable letters.

I was also wondering if this is part of your Angel of Death Chronicles? It seems to me way back when we were treading down that story path that you said this work would be part of it, but I cannot remember for sure.

Again, well done. I am having a blast playing with your stories and putting them inside of a timeline and in the same "world". Having just come across your story Nemesis and having one of the characters go on a Church of Infinity rant had me, at first, enjoying it on a humorous level as one of the Rev. MYN speeches. Now, coming across the church in your new story I am playing with it on a new, deeper level as well.

Could you take a minute and talk about this story as it fits in the world of AOD Chronicles? If it does. And also remind us of how the other stories fit? I hope I'm not the only one interested in these thoughts and it doesn't make for a waste of your time.

My last question refers back to Nemesis. Can we place the mentioned church in that story with the church detailed inside of Infinity?

I can't wait for the parts 4 and 5!

Thanks and fantastic job.

I'm listening to Part I and definitely enjoying it. The only question is, do I shell out for parts 2 and 3 on audio, or wait until next week and buy the e-book?

What the heck, I'm entitled to some instant gratification. I'll buy the audio.

MYN, the Amazon KDP program is a no-brainer for me.

I want people to read my books, and I want my Amazon ranking to increase, oh and I want to make more money as an author. KDP does all three things for me.

I sold a tiny handful of my books on Apple and Smashwords so it was easy for me to remove them from there and go to KDP.

In my first day of the KDP promotion there were 1,753 downloads of my book "Creating the Perfect Lifestyle" which took my book to the 150th most popular book on all of Amazon. After the promotion it sold better than before (at $8.97), and is still selling multiple copies a day. Then I get to add $1.70 per borrow - and I am making hundreds of dollars a month MORE than I made before going on KDP.

I am launching my book "How to be an Amazon #1 Bestseller - and Make Money" in late February where I will be outlining all of the results of my last two years of research on launching an ebook.

Kerri,
That's fantastic. I'm glad to hear from others who are also benefitting from KDP Select. Time will tell what the long-tail is on overall results but it's only a 3 month exclusive commitment so I think we're talking about a very reasonable risk/reward ratio.

Thank you, Randy! One of the great things I've discovered from ebook publishing is that the more work I put into it, the more I seem to get out of it... mostly because of how quickly the market is growing. I think 2012 will be huge for independent authors. Here's to all of us kicking lots of ass this year!

Wow. I had no idea Amazon had sold that many devices in one month. It boggles the mind to think how many more they'll sell in 2012.

Plus, this may be the year that awareness of the ability to use free Kindle/Nook apps on mobile devices and browser-based ebook reading finally reaches the tipping point.

Amazon counted 13 million devices sold in December.

Android and iOS counted 6.8 million activations on Christmas Day.

If you're not publishing eBooks, you've pretty much lost the game at this point.

YO MAN YO! Words can't express how happy I am that you've finally dropped something new in the DOM/Angel of Death timeline. I still get shivers remembering how you read for the audiobook for DOM! This is the best Christmas ever and I can't thank you enough for this.
