Junkyard: First chapter done

4103 words, one complete rewrite and many days really thinking about it but the first chapter of Junkyard is done. It’s a fairly complex book with a large ensemble of characters and the story needed to be set up a certain way so that I could really get into the 20-plus pages of notes and dialogue I’ve been jotting down here and there. I still want to get down the road a bit before I begin podcasting it but now that I finally have a firm grasp on who these characters really are as people, it’s time to get cranking. I may loosen my schedule and let the creative process breathe a bit more for Junkyard because, right now, that’s what the book is telling me to do. Or at least, if not the book, the voices inside my head. Stay tuned, this one’s gonna be tense, dark and lots of fun.
