E-mail(s) o’ the week

Excerpts from two interesting e-mails in the same vein. Both, coincidentally from chicks who listen to DoM.
i have always wanted to write erotica but by the time i got it out it seemed to dark to share. everyone wants wants sugar and spice from me i suppose.

I was in the process of writting a novella to the patron Saint of murders, but my good catholic fears got in the way.
As for the dark erotica, why not give it a shot? If you’re uneasy about the way you believe people who know you will react, that’s what pen names are for. If you think that it may be too dark and disturbing for other people to read then you’ve actually probably created something that A LOT of people would want to read.
As for the second one, I suppose fearing for your mortal soul would be a deterrent to writing a book about the patron saint of murders. Now, I’m not sure if writing about sin is an actual sin, but then again I’m no Bible scholar but why not write something else? Maybe a religious thriller? If you’re feeling the itch to write, then write. Most of the time, an idea will breed another idea. It can’t hurt to explore (to your level of comfort, of course) your creativity even if it means walking the edge of what you think is decent and indecent. Often exploring the dark edges of humanity will bring you a better perspective on who you really are.
’til next time,
M
